The prelims entrance exam is scheduled to to be held on August 24.
On Monday, ABVP activists had staged protests outside the UPSC office demanding scrapping of Civil Services Aptitude Tests (CSAT), saying such a pattern was putting Hindi language aspirants at a disadvantage. When now a days a Group D exam needs Aptitude test , they are demanding for the scrapping of Aptitude test in India’s toughest Examination! According to them, it’s too difficult to answer the numerical questions for a Non-Science background candidates. When Science/Engg/Medical graduates are studying Polity, Economy, History, IR, Geography etc such a great extent from 200 marks for Prelims+1000 marks fro Mains, they can’t study Maths for a single 200 marks qualifying paper!
But as India is a democratic country, they have the full right to protest and Govt urges UPSC to postpone the exam until the clarity of syllabus is resolved to prevent them from hunger strike(!).
