A small notice to my 15000+ followers in my earlier WordPress blog: I was using a free domain in WordPress of which the allowed space has been exceeded. Also the no. of followers which is permitted for a free domain has crossed it’s limit within just 25 days from its commencement! So I have no other option but to buy a custom domain of unlimited storage. Though I spend Rs 3200/ to purchase this domain, be happy to know this new website too will be always free for you people! I consider this website to as a small tribute to my society. This work gives me an immense mental satisfaction that I too can deliver some facilities to my nation, especially those who lacks proper Coaching and guidance due to monetary stigma. What you have to do is: you have to subscribe through your email ID again as the earlier Website will no longer be available.Be focused in your goal. Jay Hind!

Critically comment on steps taken by the new Govt to address preoblems to the Sugar Industry. Do you think the reforms are systemantic and structural?

The Modi Government has announced the plans recently to tackle the problems facing by Sugar industry. But the plan appears bailout in nature and it has no reform oriented component which can provide an enduring solution to sector’s woes.

The four pronged package involves-

  • continuation of subsidy  for a certain time
  • a hike in the import duty from 15% to 40%
  • an additional interest free loans to the Sugar meal to a certain limit and raising the level for blending Ethanol with Petrol from 5% to 10%.

This package may ease the industry’s current liquidity crunch but the measures will yield problems in long run. India, being scarce in land and water, to produce biofuel based food crops like Ethanol for fuel blending is not a good idea. Giving incentive for the export of Sugar will encourage export of water.

SO this reform can’t be called as structural or systematic, it is a regressive kind of measure which will lead to temporary relief and treating the symptopm without tackling the disease.

The policy should include-

  • state advised Sugarcane prices.
  • Enforcement of Rangarajan committee recommendations of revenue sharing between sugarcane producers and growers.
  • complete decontrol.

Critically compare and contrast India’s economic relationship between China and Japan.

China and japan, the two largest economies of asia have large trade relations with india. Materially the trade of both has flourished but spiritually they are in stark contrast.

Ever since india’s LPG reforms, japan has flooded Indian markets with its high quality electronic goods and awe inspiring automobiles. Infact now these Japanese brands are a household name in india. India and japan have always been friendly after the world war with Dr. manmohan singh describing japan as india’s natural ally. Trade relations have zoomed over past few years. They have invested heavily in different technology parks, education sector, and the latest the dedicated freight corridor. But still there is plenty of room to improve.

China on the other hand is always held in suspicion. Due to historical factors, border problem, its growing assertiveness along with nationalistic feelings people of india have not accepted Chinese products at heart. There are frequent news about the quality concerns of Chinese products all round the globe. But still the china has been able to dent Indian markets as like the world over with its cheapness. The trade is highly favourable in china’s side. Attempts are continuous to erect this skewness but nothing has fructified.

Inspite of large trade relations of india with these superpowers, the enormity lacks considering huge potential of india and its market size. Both countries vie for a big pie. The piece will remain with the one who eyes long term relations and winning hearts of common man of india.
